THIS brother and sister got well and truly trolleyed when they took part in a world record trolley dash attempt.
Aston Purnell, eight, and his six year-old sister Rubie-Rose, from St Austell, took part in the supermarket sweep-style event to mark the grand opening of the 99p Stores in White River Place Shopping Centre on Wednesday. The £250,000 store has opened in the former Peacocks and Bonmarche units in White River, and brings with it about 30 new jobs to the town.
It is the first 99p Stores in the county.
The siblings were nominated separately by their mum Heidi to take part in the dash. And when Aston’s name was pulled out of the hat of 150 nominations, the store decided to let both siblings take part in the dash.
They were given 99 seconds to beat the current world record of 265 items.
All Aston scooped up he got to keep and Rubie-Rose was promised a £25 voucher if she failed in her world record bid.
