A GROUP which was set up to support local projects has received £250,000 extra funding for small businesses from the government scheme that supports it.

The West Cornwall Local Action Group (WCLAG) announced its updated Business Grant Scheme last month after receiving the extra funding from the Rural Development Programme for England (RDPE).

The scheme is targeted at micro enterprises of less than ten employees or other projects based in the former Penwith and Kerrier districts.

The group said its priorities are smaller businesses below the VAT threshold or projects which develop the rural supply chain.
