Have you seen gold coins?

Police are trying to trace gold sovereign coins worth almost £7,000 which were stolen during a daylight burglary at a Plymouth home.

A burglar scaled a steel pile and climbed onto a balcony to get into the flat in Devonport, and escaped with the coins and other personal effects.

An 82-year-old man was at home in another room when the offence happened in early April.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have been offered the coins for sale in the past few months or may have been boasting about owning them.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting crime reference ED/12/3778 or speak in confidence to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
